What is emulsion fuel?
Emulsion fuels are defined as emulsification of water in fuel, meaning water molecules are enveloped by fuel molecules with the use of additives.
Water in Diesel yields the following effects:
- Water vaporization increases fuel dispersion in the form of smaller droplets.
- Contact surface between fuel and air is increased.
- Combustion is more efficient.
- High pressure steam increase in volume and give extra ‘push’
- Reduces combustion temperature peaks (lowers NOx). Particulate formation is reduced (lowers PM).
- More power from the High Pressure Steam expansion
